Type Locality and Naming

It is distinguished in SE Murghab district, Mynkhadzhir type section

Synonym: Mynkhadzhirskaya suite, Мынхаджирская свита

Lithology and Thickness

It is composed of dark, coarse- and giant-bedded limestones and dolomites. Thickness 40-110 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Schematic stratigraphic column indicates lower contact as Kyzylbelays Fm

Upper contact

The upper age boundary is determined by the conformable lying of the Upper Aalenian-Lower Bajocian Jarutek Fm (джарутекской свиты) on it.

Regional extent

It is widespread in the Southeast Pamir.

Fossils

Organic remains are found only in the Mynkhadzhir Fm. In its lower layers, Hettangian-Sinemurian pelecypods Plagiostoma cf. compressa Terq. have been encountered, in the upper layers - Toarcian-Oxfordian pectinids Camptonectes lens Sow., Entolium demissum Phill.
